This 2-day stay in Liverpool was a present, so I wanted the quality of the hotel to be above the more basic run-of-the-mill standard. I chose the Crowne Plaza on the back of generally favourable reviews, along with its central location. It didn't disappoint. The location is perfect. It's right next door to the Liver Building and in very easy walking distance to all the main places of interest. And yet it's not right on top of the main city centre either, so surprisingly quiet. The parking here is excellent. They have a spacious car park on site, so I felt confident leaving my vehicle here. We didn't use the car throughout our stay, and were able to leave it in the car park for the duration. As we were planning to arrive several hours before check-in time, and not departing until after check-out, I wanted to confirm if we would be charged extra to leave it. The staff were very helpful when I emailed in advance to ask, informing me that I could park on arrival at 11am and leave at 3pm on the day of departure and would just be charged for 2 days. It's not particularly cheap (£19 per day) but worth the money in my view to know we could leave the car and not be worried about it. The arrival experience was very good - very friendly staff who helpfully provided maps and lots of information about the city (this was our first visit). Our room was spacious, very comfortable, and very quiet. Breakfast was included in our rate and again we were pleased with the quality and choice. The hot food was served in a buffet format, but unlike some buffet breakfasts I've experienced, was actually hot! We also had dinner in the hotel both evenings (mainly because we were very tired from all the walking we'd done on both days!). The menu choices were a little limited, but the quality was very good and there was enough variety for a couple of nights at least. All in all an excellent experience, which really enhanced our stay in this vibrant and fascinating...

A spacious room, good view over Princes Dock & a few sights of the river. Plenty of nice touches, shaving kit, sewing kit etc I expected a mini-bar but that is not a huge fail! Bed was very comfortable & huge, got an excellent nights sleep. Didn't hear any noise from other guests in corridors or rooms. Breakfast was included in our deal & was fabulous. Hot, cold & continental options. Something for everyone. Particularly pleasing was the great range of Gluten Free options, us GF people are often overlooked, but not at this hotel. We had dinner in the hotel on one night & although the menu did not show GF options, the restaurant manager Lauren was incredibly helpful & talked us through what was GF & what could be adapted. She really was 'on the ball' when it came to allergy needs. The hotels location is great, right near the Pier Head. Its a fair walk up into the City Centre & the shops but an easy taxi ride. We had a wonderful stay & will definitely use this hotel again.

Room service excellent - food very good - Main restaurant closed too early in the evening though. We did order from the bar food menu so that was OK - more than one error made with food orders from the bar though on each evening. Staff need to listen carefully to the orders or at least repeat back the order before confirming ? Leisure facilities excellent although many users thought the main swimming pool water temperature was too warm. Hotel location excellent - easy parking - didn't mind the fee to be honest for a city centre location within walking distance.

The exceptional friendly staff and the amazing breakfasts . We also used the Spa and gym which made our stay really good. The room was very clean and it was perfect for our needs. The bar was very nice and the staff could not do enough for us.

I’ve stayed at this hotel many times before. The rooms are nice but the main attraction for me is the pool and jacuzzi. The location and parking are great also.
